We are California Healthy Workplace Advocates, a 100% volunteer citizen-lobbying group with NO dues or fees required. Our group’s mission is

“to raise public awareness and to compel our State to correct and prevent abusive work environments through legislation.”   

We are not an agency but a group of people who have experienced workplace bullying and want to be part of social change. We want a law that will correct and prevent workplace bullying and are glad to have you join us!

We will gladly add your personal email to our private distribution list so you receive updates on our progress to get the Healthy Workplace Act passed into law in California and nationwide. Email us at info@bullyfreeworkplace.org  to be added to our private email list. As you may know, there is NO LAW prohibiting “status blind” harassment, i.e. workplace bullying. We want to transform our pain into meaning by getting a law passed in California and across the United States to correct and prevent workplace bullying, much like the sexual harassment laws now do.

We have not yet succeeded at our mission, but we are not giving up. We don’t currently have a California legislator sponsoring the Healthy Workplace Act but we are working on it. Once we secure a bill sponsor, we’ll need people like you to contact your local State representatives and help compel them to support the bill. You can write or call your representatives at any time to ask for their support but, as mentioned, we don’t have an active sponsor for the bill in California...yet. We are not attorneys or therapists.  As mentioned previously, we are people who have experienced workplace bullying and don’t want anyone else to suffer injury as we have.  Please take the time a read over our website.    We also recommend you read the book, The Bully at Work by Drs. Ruth and Gary Namie.  It is filled with valuable information.  Please read as much as you can about this phenomenon and review Drs. Namie’s website at www.workplacebullying.org.  

Our "in person" meetings are held in the Sacramento, CA on the last Saturday of the month except in November and December.  The meetings are open to the public and we invite you to attend. We don’t give legal advice but we do share our experiences and offer suggestions when asked.

We wish we could help more people personally, but that is not our scope. We are not counselors; we leave that to the professionals. We do recommend you see your medical doctor and a counselor to document what is happening to you.  Document, document, document. And DON'T leave your documentations at work.
